several things you need to be sure of: (if you are not using port 25565, then fill in the correct port)

    1. server_ip in server.properties MUST BE BLANK
    2. you need to have your router set to forward to you server
    Port forwarding
    1. This is found on your router configuration. usually under administration/applications/gaming, or port forwarding
    2. NOT port triggering
    3. NOT port range
    4. forward port 25565 on both tcp and udp to your server's INTERNAL address (192...)

    3. Assuming windows, you need to make sure your firewall is configured properly
Windows 7 Firewall Settings: (req. even if fw is off)
    1. create four rules in your firewall settings
    2. inbound, tcp, 25565, allow, all profiles
    3. inbound, udp, 25565, allow, all profiles
    4. outbound, tcp, 25565, allow, all profiles
    5. outbound, udp, 25565, allow, all profiles
    4. TESTING:
    1. try from the server (use LOCALHOST as the address)
    2. try from another computer on your network (use the server's INTERNAL address ..192...)
    3. try from outside (use the EXTERNAL address 67... or whatever)

let us know how that goes

I did do everything u told me to but it still says connecting for my other friends except me

oooo i did port range forwarding but i cant find port forwarding or is port range forwarding same as port forwarding. ( I have a linksys as a router)

Are you giving your friends your internal IP address (192.168.1.xxx) or your external IP? Use http://icanhazip.com/ to see the IP address you need them to use. You might need to add the port behind it also, if it's other than the default.

wat do u mean? giving my friends my internal ip address(I know my internal ip)

    lol http://www.whatsmyip.org/

give them that number.... when they may or may not have to add :25565... after that check http://www.canyouseeme.org/

put 25565 in there and if they cant see you then you need to open the port 25565 on TCP and UDP for your Internal IP and it doesnt hurt to set your Internal IP to static if you know how. so you dont leave a lot of ips with port holes.

If you dont KNOW your internal IP Hold Windows Key + R and type CMD then type ipconfig/all and its your IPv4 thats your internal IP

FINALLY every time you reset your router your External IP will change you'll have to get it again from http://www.whatsmyip.org/

and just in case you dont know you can NOT open ports from windows firewall you gotta log into your router which you can also get from the ipconfig/all command i believe its your default gateway enter that at a URL in your browser (EX:192.168.1.1 no http:// no www. or .com/org/net/ect) and then you need the login/pass if you dont know it or didnt set it then google your exact router brands manual it will have the username/pass in it.
