Hello. So basically I cannot connect to my Minecraft server.
I am getting this reply from console:

Any ideas on how to fix it ?

Are you in offline mode? Are you playing on a bought Minecraft edition? Notch made it so the server verifies if it's a real account or not.

I changed the server into Offline mode. All resolved. It WAS in Online mode and this was the only fix I could find...

So you didn't buy the game? It should work fine in online mode if you did...

Break a 20 and buy the game please.

Notch should just remove the Offline mode altogether. Pirates don't deserve SMP.

    Brain

    Code:
    java.net.UnknownHostException: http://www.minecraft.net
simply looks like Java can't resolve the hostname www.minecraft.net, probably in preparation for authenticating the user in online mode. Calling whitenerdy a thief is pretty premature at this point in my opinion since it still looks like a name resolving issue and I think in a few hours apologies might be in order.

If everything is legit it's his ISP or server hoster's DNS service that is coughing chunks at the moment. This will fix itself or get fixed in a while (I'd wait about a day). If the problem resolving www.minecraft.net still persists, contact your ISP or server hoster and tell them about this problem.

You get that message sometimes when the Minecraft login servers are down. Just try later..

From your server, ping www.minecraft.net. If you can't ping it, that's your problem.

I have the EXACT same issue. My server just started doing this out of nowhere (I am on CB 680) and myself and two others are unable to log in (it gives that error, and sometimes other errors.) We all have purchased the game, in fact we are all alpha players.

Ping seems to work fine from the server as well.

    Actually wait...

Does this mean the login server is down to some extent?

Edit: My serverhost confirmed this was minecraft's servers.
