      I think I have your class names right... if not you can change them. This goes in the setupFiles method.

      String directory = this.getFile().getParent() + File.separator + "MOTDAdvanced";
      (new File(directory)).mkdir();
      messages = new MOTDSettings(directory + File.separator + "messages.yml");
