    Permissions 2.1 (Handler)
    Download 2.1 (Jar Only)

    Permissions... Done right.
    Permissions allows plugin-authors to utalize a permission system that handles group inheritance, globalized permission settings, and more. All the features of a fine-grained permission system in one plugin.

    Features
    1. Groups
    2. Group Inheritance, Allows for groups to gain permissions from other groups.
    3. User Permission System
    4. Fine Grained Permission system.
      1. Allowing for Globalized permissions
    5. Easy to use, setup, and implement.
    6. Two cache layers, first from file to memory, then from memory to cache.
      1. Plugins can control cache since version 2.1
    7. And much more.
    For the users

    Permissions gives server admins great control, mostly in-game reloading. Simply use /pr and the file will be re-cached and never touched again until you need to reload it. This allows you to quickly give your users the commands that they need without having to restart the server.

    Installation for 2.0 down:
    1. Download the archive.
    2. Extract contents to the /plugins folder.
    3. Open up /plugins/Permissions/config.yml
      1. Read / modify.
      2. Save.
    4. Reload Server.

    Supporting Plugins

    I have hit the character limit for this post.

    Thanks to:
    • sk89q for hiearchical and node system idea.
    • Creator of GroupUsers for api implementation.
    This author has stopped development of this plugin. It is no longer supported and I wouldn't ask for help here, as you won't get any. New Permissions

  3. @Littlericket and @imoro your yaml is incorrectly formatted. Get notepad++ and open in that, it will give you syntax hints.

    I'm using CB# 126 and I do not want my default group to have build rights. But when I change the permissions around they are still able to build on the server. Any help?

    I'ts like this right Server-> Plugins -> Permissions file.
    Server -> Plugins -> permissions folder -> Plugins ->Config.
    right?

    Just like any other plugin, you place the .jar file and the folder into your "plugins" folder. Then, you edit your config.yml accordingly with how you want your users/groups to be set up.

    No second plugins folder.

    It should look like this when finished:
    CraftBukkit -> Plugins -> Permissions.Jar
    CraftBukkit -> Plugins -> Permissions -> Config.Yml

    Does it matter what name the config.Yml folder has?

    No current way to add users from in-game... however, if you give your admins (or whoever) the "permissions.reload" node, than you can edit your config.yml while the server is running and use "/pr" in-game to reload it. That is the best we have so far. I too am waiting for an in-game solution.

    Yes. It has to be in the "Permissions" folder. That tells the server that it is the config file for Permissions. Make sense? =]

    I found out that my config file is a Txt. file how do I change it to .Yml?

    I don't see any single quotes (' ') around your prefixes.

    @joshcvb

    You don't have any users in the Default group?

    If you're running windows, click "tools", "folder options", "view", and scroll down and make sure "hide file extensions" isn't checked. Then you should be able to just rename config.txt to config.yml... <click for help>
    For linux/mac, I'm not sure.

    Hello friends, see if you can help me, I can not run this plugin.

    I just upgraded to the latest version of Bukkit, I load the plugin properly. I'm on a local test server on my PC.

    The fact is that if I go to minecraft without realizing any access, you should be user Default is not it, well, I can use for example the command "/ time" when the config file that you can only use it sets the Moderators.

    The config file I have not changed, this way I've downloaded. It also happens that anyone can use the plugin LWC: S What am I doing wrong?

    By any chance, can we set a prefix just for one person? We used to be able to do this in Hey0, and it was kind of convenient. For example, me being the owner, I'd like for my name to have the prefix [Owner] but still remain in the Admins group.

    @achmed
    Looks fine. Just need to capitalize the group names in the users section at the bottom. Yml is very picky like that.
    @HungryBagel
    Just make a new group named "Owner" with blank permissions that inherits the "Admins" group. That's what I did for my server. =]

    I fixed it, having the build set to false does nothing, you have to download an additional plugin to prevent building
