    A fine choice of invisibility for the discerning server administrator.

    there needs to be some kinda alert to our current state of visibility.

    seems to work better than vanishnopickup though.

    i used a client that could see vanished users with vanishnopickup , and it couldnt see vanished users with vanishnopacket.

    Couldn't get it to work for me, using latest spout and cb 1060. No errors in the server folder. Perms correctly placed. Nothing happened when I used the vanish command. I am running a lot of plugins, over 45, so that might affect it, not sure.

    If it's not saying anything, then you don't have the permission vanish.vanish (available through vanish.standard). Are you running something that interfaces with superperms, the bukkit permissions, or just an older permissions plugin?

    I will likely add a /amivanished sort of command in the next version.

    As is stated in the first post, you need something using up to date bukkit permissions. :)

    @DaveDee Yessir. Purely server-side plugin :)

    I'll update my post a bit to make that clear

    Very very nice! This sounds like it will solve the problem other vanish plugins have of the player being visible for a fraction of a second if they tp.

    I really want to use this, but could you add these two features (via the same permission node config system):
    • Invincibility (unable to take damage) when invisible
    • Unable to deal damage when invisible
    Sometimes my moderators accidentally fall down a hole or punch people when invisible :p

    @oliverw92 That's a rather good suggestion. I'll add that later today. :)

    Maybe add "/vanish (target)" option also?

    I'm not quite sure when it's a good idea to make a player that isn't you invisible. If you make a convincing enough case for it...

    Another suggestion:
    Add support for removing nickname from playerlist, emulate logoff message and prevent login message in vanish state.

    Adding any of these features would be strongly interfering with existing plugins that do a great job. With this plugin, everyone knows you're still on the server. It's just your location on the server that is no longer known.

    But it would be nice to have it in one plugin, instead of using something else only for "total" vanish.
    You may add it like additional command, something like "/vanish full"
    Sometimes it really helps in cheater hunt =)

    Things required to do that:

    1) This plugin would have to become the handler for all player listing commands
    2) This plugin would have to somehow intercept all commands that might involve revealing a player is on the server, from every possible other plugin
    3) Configuration for fake join/quit messages

    it will be awesome if you could bind the vanish command to an key like ' V ' with perm of course.
    (this will give admins more one good reason to use this plugin, like for me ^_^)

    This plugin is server-side. Binding to a key would be client side. Many client-side chat systems allow binding keys to commands :)

    O_O ye you right didn't thought about that... and can you give me one chat system like that ^_^ .
    oh right if i am not mistaken you can do it that it not be necessary to have the client mod to use the plugin with bind.

    You'll never know.
    I explain this in my post above, but I'll summarize for you :)

    VanishNoPickup: Sends all users a packet saying "this user is gone" and then keeps sending that packet whenever it thinks it should, to keep trying to make the user invisible again. Vanished users will flicker when they teleport in. Vanished users can be tracked by hacker/griefer clients.

    VanishNoPacket: Sends all users a packet saying "this user is gone" and then stops telling everyone anything about the user. No flickering. Can not be tracked (ever) by hacker/griefer clients.

    Wow! That's pretty cool. No SpoutCraft client required, eh? Nice.
