    Installing the plugin
    Ways to setup your server:

Default - no changes to any configuration files. This means you do not need to change a thing in the myserver.mcbans.com dashboard.

Server Network Mode - This will make your server only accept bans from specific servers. Isolated from the rest of the system. Settings page on your myserver.mcbans.com dashboard.

Group Shares - share bans by joining a group of servers. The groups can share specific bans ( temp bans, global bans, local bans ) according to the groups settings. A group can be Public or request to join.

Ignore Servers - You can ignore all bans coming from specific servers.

Server Lockdown - very easy whitelist

Exclusions - ignore bans on a player or bans for specific reasons.

It appears to be working in CB 405. I just couldnt test due to Minecraft servers crapping out.

I'll test as soon as I can get on, then come back here and try the CB version you posted.

    Just reporting this:

    Code:
2011-02-21 18:12:31 [WARNING] Using the stupidly long constructor com.firestar.mcbans.mcbans(PluginLoader, Server, PluginDescriptionFile, File, File, ClassLoader) is no longer recommended. Go nag the plugin author of MCBans to remove it! (Nothing is broken, we just like to keep code clean.)
Other than this non-error, MCBans 2.6.7 seems to be working fine with Build #405. Keep up the good work!

Anyone on my server can now kick anyone else, despite permissions. :(

? you need to provide a bit more info than that....

    • what are you using it with, permissions?
    • have you checked to see if mcbans.kick is set to the correct group
    • version of CraftBukkit
    • blah blah
    • console output errors?

I just tested this out in case it was a bug, they didnt have the permissions to do it, Check your permissions file is your best bet.

    Sure:

    * Permissions 2.0
    * Players had no mcbans permissions nodes at all
    * Craftbukkit build #53
    * No output errors at all

How come this plugin doesn't restrict players from entering the server after being banned?

For some reason, I do not have access to the local and global bans for admins. a bit more info below...

I came from hmod where a ban was done like /ban PLAYERNAME g or l REASON. and when a person was banned it used to announce to the server who was banned.

Moved to bukkit now. All I have now is /ban (the default minecraft server one) and bans are not updating to the MCBans list (because I can't access the MCBans version of the command.)

Any ideas? Can provide more info if needed.

Yes, I am. Essentials have issues with it that I didn't read up on?

Essentials uses the same commands for kick ban and unban. you should not need to use the /mcbans command unless you are new to MCBans, you will need to go from step 3 on.

I wouldn't say I'm new to MCBans, but like I said, I used it on hMod. As it stands now, bans done via /ban USERNAMEHERE are not sticking, nor appearing in MCBans. (I wouldn't expect these bans to work with MCbans anyway, since that's not the commands I knew to use before) My server already has a api key and the such.

Basically, I can't do local or global bans. all I have is /ban not /ban NAMEHERE g/l REASON

essentials takes the command away from mcbans.

Well that's a rather large letdown. Is there any way to gain access to the command again, or do I basically need to replace essentials, or drop MCBans. I'm quite fond of MCBans.=/

you can always ask the essentials plugin developer to not be so aggressive in taking all the core functionality of the game and focus it, and do one thing right, rather than everything wrong.

Remove essentials and start over. its pretty modular, if you read the download page, it says, "essentials-ban" will conflict with other ban plugins, avoid that one, Just install the ones you need.

or, if thats your only issue, remove essentialsbans. And this should resolve it:)

Yeah, I just removed essentialsbans. Works fine now. Just waiting on the hopeful CraftBook Release Saturday and I can bring the old map back up on my server. But yes, MCBans working well now. Thanks.
