Can players with 1.8 launcher play my 1.7 server?

    How to make it that players can join my 1.7 server while their using 1.8 launcher?

    If they are launching a 1.8 client then they will not be able to connect to a 1.7 server.

    When using the Minecraft launcher before hitting 'Play' players can set Profile settings.
    In bottom left of the launcher you'll see a profile setup, edit the profile for your current account.
    On the Edit Profile window is a 'Use version' drop-down box, switch that to the Minecraft version wanted.
    Save profile and click Play. Can now play with set version.
