CraftBukkit Automatic Installer (Iridium Server Manager)

What would you need that for?

that way i can see what errors are showing up. the log tracks any problems that show up

I have tried different ways to set up a server, and everytime I try to run it by pressing the start.bat or in this case, pressing the launch server button I get the following error:

I don't know what to do anymore and I hope someone can help me! Thanks in advance.

ok, there are a few things you can try, but as you said you've tried many times, we can rule out the first option:

1. download craftbukkit.jar again (as i said, rule this out)
2. download java 7. this, along with performance upgrades, will fix any path issues you have.
3. check whether the same thing happens on the normal minecraft server.

it's actually easier to do this within the users.yml file in the bukkit folder. Open this file up, scroll down to there name and change the group to the next rank. You can also do it like this, in game:
Type these commands IN THIS ORDER:

• /world [currentworld]
• /user [user you want to promote]
• /user setgroup [whatever group you want them to have]

For example, this would promote the user ImminentFate, who is in world Universe, to the rank of Moderator.

• /world Universe
• /user ImminentFate
• /user setgroup Moderator

i cant find the download link

Very easy and efficient way to install Bukkit! There's only one problem, and it's very big: each time I install Bukkit, it doesn't include craftbukkit.jar, and it only has the folders for bPermissions and CButD, not the .jar files. It doesn't even have WorldEdit or Pail! Please fix this soon!

i know, that seems to be an issue that a lot of people are having. I'm working on it, but in the meanwhile, you can just download those files manually from http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods

hello every time i try to open the short cut it says unable to access jarfile can anyone help?

that means craftbukkit didnt download. use the operator panel and download it again, or get it manually

edit: and one thing: if you launch without cmd it wont do anything

to export old worlds into it, simply copy the world folder into the bukkit server folder, then open server.properties and point the "world" tag at the folder.
And I know about the failing "launch without cmd", have you tried updating?

update helped. its doing something (without cmd) now next step get the plugins i need xD ( task for my self )

dont think that this is normal. My server has been installed. but if I run the panel and start up my server it creates a new server in a folder above where my server is.

i am having the same problem and i can run a normal server

yes, but where is the operator panel exe in? It has to be in the same folder as your server, so that the files can be generated properly

try downloading craftbukkit again. also, make sure java is updated. I know I say it a lot, but getting Java 7 may help you

try getting java 7. Make sure to remove java from your computer first, then get the new one.

replace "java" in the launch file with the actual path to java.exe.
That all you have to do.
Don't forget to put quotation marks around the path. e.g. "C:\Program Files\Java\jre 6\bin\ java.exe"

when I try to run the operator panel, I get three errors. This is the first time I have used it.
One says Unable to load DLL 'dwmapi.dll'
The other says do not run the server using this GUI on this Launch! Please move this launcher to the same folder as your server and try again.
The final one says Value cannot be null. Parameter name: path1

Please help?

i'll be fine thanks. Dropbox is more than good enough, and if I go over the bandwidth (occasionally, I do) I just switch to SugarSync or Mediafire until it comes back

for the first one:
Did you let the package of tools that comes with it to get installed? (Net Framework 4, VB Power Pack). What OS do you have.
for two and three:
Did you read the message properly? If you did, it will tell you that "if this is your first time running the gui, please run the installer first". Do that after the operator panel loads up, its the first option available.

Yes, they installed fine. I am running Windows XP SP3
The operator panel dosn't load and just shows those errors. I am going to try and run the installer again to see if something was done wrong on my part.
EDIT: I got to the installer and downloaded it, I am still getting the first error, but don't have the two others.

it seems that you are missing that file, which is odd, since it controls a lot of things on your computer. besides this isntaller, it may be a concern for you for other things as well. Run a virus scan on your computer, try checking the recycle bin, and if you have to, perform a system restore. You may not realise, but that file is quite important. It stands for "desktop windows management application programming interface". The name should tell you it all. It controls most things to do with your desktop, such as boot and windows loading.
DONT download it from somewhere else. it is a way of getting an infected file that screws your computer completely
