CraftBukkit for Minecraft 1.7.3 now available

I'm more worried about minecraft as whole than bukkit so far our server is corrupt right now with an endless battle of that bloody sign and chest bug that wipes both and spreads like the freaking plague. It so bad now that almost all the heavy traffic areas of the map are corrupted with this bug.

IMO and I really have no other way to put this esp to notch other than this "WTH HAVE U DONE!" secondly how on earth has this not been acknowledged by the minecraft team and quick patched its been long enough and this is a now known bug in fact its I'm going to call this a game breaking bug as it really is. Now look I know a lot of probably won't call this garbage but in my eyes if chests don't work and signs don't work the game is 100% not stable for MP use and thus is broken.

I can't rely on my signs or chests anymore as there a massive chance they wont last a week before being corrupted by this stupid game breaking issue that apparently existed since 1.7 vanilla.

I don't suffer any of those RAM issues a lot of you are kicking a stink about my advice to you is to check your jar arguments and get of "953" the versions after 980 Fix the ram leaks and I tried a lot of the developer versions past 953 so seriously you only have your selves to blame for your ram issues.

If your going to stick to 953 your going to have the ram issue end of story so as bad as this sounds please stop posting about your ram issues the fix is there go get it and stop whining. most of the post 953 won't break your plugins it's mainly added events and hooks and fixes.


Anyway back to this game breaking bug, I'm extremely angry with the bukkit staff esp @EvilSeph and not coz they have not fixed the issue yet but the fact he completely ignored me despite posting on here that he was interested in finding out who has it then just being completely rude and ignoring my response.

Well I have the bug and you would KNOW this if u would have had the decency to reply to my PM explicitly giving you permissions to come onto our server as Admin to run tests on infected areas. I don't know why I bother trying to help as it appears any form of formal contact gets ignored. I'd probably have better luck getting a response from notch by posting on his twitter " I have spoken to notch prev using this method"

What was I supposed to do post my response here and get it lost - buried under the mindless chatter. If you make a call out asking for people effected to un-controllable extent. I'm not sure of the rules on PM staff but I would assume this classes as fairly decent reason to make contact.

It's been over 2 weeks since I posted that PM not a single response not even a "bugger off" response, That is not the kind of attitude I would expect from someone who appeared to be in need of servers with the bug to come forward about it.

Well whats done is done and if you don't reply to this post than good luck with the it I suppose but I'm tanking my offer around directly to notch instead he appears to listen quite well when you catch him on twitter. I'm pretty sure some formal contact would get this issue some love.

I might as well leave you guys with ram issues a present tho.

Oh yea I read that a while ago, I'm awear that trial and error is the only way and what works best for me may not work so well for someone else. But I thought my java tuning was not overdoing it too much and should be generally safe its worked on 4 systems so far just copy and pasted as it was and tweaked to hardware specs.

Forcing the threads I don't see the harm tho provided you know how many threads you cpu has to use I could probably look at my tuning again tho you provided some much needed explinations for some reasons as to why not to use certain arguments.

Update:The problem isn't solved and now it says Connection reset in the console(maybe it's because i have a dynamic IP?)
and i have Java installed in G:\Jocuri\Programe\Java Jdk 6 and the i had to alter the startup script to work and the other scripts won't work(should i uninstall Java and install it in the default derectory?)

It can download a fully configured server craftbukkit # 1000 with plug-ins? I'd asked.

AFAIK you can't, but unless you need the permissions plugin, you can just download the server, start it once (it will create a plugins directory) and then put all the plugins you want into the plugins directory. The plugins will each create a default configuration, and that's exactly what you'd get if you downloaded the whole set. (/me glances at an imaginary pokeball).

Is there a fix for this, a work around, or anything that we can do to prevent it or lower its chances of occurring in anyway?

Can somebody send me a permissions template? Im new to permissions, and a user spammed my world with WorldEdit, and I would like to implement permissions.

Avoid plugins that update signs. For me, using redstone chips triggered the bug.

Avoid placing a lot of signs or chests in one chunk (near each other, ignoring the height).

Yeah - there was a message somewhere that the redstone issues were fixed with the newest version of bukkit/MC but I agree to this that they still make a lot of trouble. I'm talking about the repeaters and mean the original and the block-itself ones.

Everything works fine until the last line, which seems like it just doesn't want to load... can anyone lend a hand

Same here. I kept getting lag issues and general unresponsiveness, then I saw my java process was using the max RAM I'd allocated (8GB). Started to peel off plugins to see which one was leaking. Finally got frustrated and just ran with none at all.. empty plugins folder. Memory still kept climbing and climbing. Downloaded minecraft_server.jar and used that instead of craftbukkit; now it's stable at 923MB.

Soooo.. apparently something is still having issues. I'm using CB1000. Just wanted to add another voice to coankid's comment.

You people with RAM problems, do you have a lot of plug-ins running? I'm running a RB #1000 server with ~10 avg. concurrent users and about 8 plugins with no problems. The Java process is given a max. of 3 GB of RAM to play with (which it utilizes all of) and there is no lag on the server (except for the classic bunch-of-TNT cases).

You'll have to wait for an update for Spout as it overrides Bukkits NetServerHandler and some changes were made to the Map Chunk Packet.

i just wish i could configure mcmmo not to autodownload the spout thing

It must be about time to promote a new build, the change list of fixes is about a page long since 1000 was released a month ago

Hey, i'm getting alot of CPU usage from bukkit any i'm not sure why i think its a bug in bukkit.
I've tried with no plugins. After a fresh install of ubuntu bukkit with no plugins used 0.01-0.2 cpu load. after my plugins and worlds it stayed at 0.01-0.4 with 6 players online.
that was last night, this morning when i looked, my cpu load was over 10 with 0 players online.
I've tried CentOS, Ubuntu, Java6, Java7 and OpenJDK all the same issue. which makes me think its an issue with bukkit.

Please please can you help fix this, and i will love you forever! <3 (no homo )

PLEASE HELP. I downloaded bukkit 1000 and made a server. i was all hapy playing with my freinds, building, and installing plugins. I go to restart the server and i do. I try to login to my server and it says that the server has been redirected too many times? Why is this and how can i fix it?
