    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More
    Current Version: 2.2-AB

    Description
Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

Looking for the old version that runs on CraftBukkit 1000? We don't have it anymore :( Here's an archive of the old help post. If you're a new user, we REALLY recommend using Multiverse 2..

    The Multiverse Team:

    Version 1.6.4

    • Fixed 0 Price Portals
    • Fixed a bug with new Portals
    • Updated for iConomy 5 (You will need to update to iCo 5)
    • Improved the PVP Setup
      • Now you no longer have to set the server.properties PVP variable to true... this is now completely done via the worlds config and properly stops PVP rather than preventing the damage from being applied.
    Version 1.6.3

    • Update for Minecraft 1.5 and CraftBukkit build 733
    Version 1.6.2

    • Contains updates/features which were introduced in 1.5
Version 1.6 - Thanks to 'fernferret'

    • Updated for CB Builds 600+
    Version 1.5 - Permissions 2.1+ - (V1.5 - 02/03/2011)[/U]

    • Fixed whitelist/blacklisting once and for all :), thanks to @ledhead900
    • Add permission node 'multiverse.portal.exempt' -- Basically means they don't have to pay the cost of the portal... this is useful for Donors and such.
    • Updated to use iConomy 4.1 -- Would be great if I can get feedback on this... as usual I can only test solo.
    Version 1.4 - Permissions 2.0 & 2.1 - (V1.4 - 26/02/2011 - 01:11 AM GMT)

    • Should be easier on high pop servers now
      • Only checks if a player is within a Portal everytime he changes BLOCK Coordinate instead of every single pixel footstep he/she takes.
    • Now Supports Permissions 2.1 -- Both 2.1 and 2.0 support have seperate JARs, so get the right one.
      • Also commands are properly disabled when a Permissions plugin is not found and it will alert the player trying to use the Command.
    Version 1.3 - Permissions 2.0 - (V1.3 - 24/02/2011 - 02:31 AM GMT)

    • Removed the 'Stupidly Long Constructor'
    • Fixed an error which was loading portals that were on a non existent world which caused errors later on.
    Version 1.2.2 - (V1.2.2 - 23/02/2011 - 03:05 AM GMT)

    • Nothing much just updated so it works with Minecraft Beta 1.3, I suggest you don't use a lower Multiverse build than v1.2.2 otherwise it won't work and errors will occur.
    Version 1.2.1 - (V1.2.1 - 20/02/2011 - 23:35 PM GMT)

    • Changed over to the new Entity Damage...

Hey, I have MVcore, MVportals and MVnetherportals installed on my server. I notice that when going to the nether, the first portal (nether portal) will create a new portal in the nether. The problem is that as soon as someone else makes a portal in the world, that will teleport to that same portal in the nether, no matter how far away from the other portal in the overworld. The only way to create multiple portals in the nether, is making a portal in the nether, wich means you cannot choose where you will come in the overworld.

Now I know I can link portals with mvnp to fix this, but in vanilla, portals auto-create new ones. Is this a bug or a config thing I forgot?

    thanks,
    Zipron

I've created a new survival and nether map.
Now the global pvp-deny setting via WorldGuard is broekn, so i must disable pvp in the world.yml
And the spawn problem is coming again. Since the new maps every time i will spawn at the spawnpoint of the bukkitmap 'world'.

OK I've found the bug. With /mvreload the firstspawnoverride is broken. Only with a clear server restart the problem is away

Is there a way to force a reload on world change. i have separate inventory's, and game modes per world. but i have to reload before the mode change takes affect.

I've been searching for a while, so sorry if i missed something.

Yes. You will need to use a WorldGen plugin like CleanroomGenerator.
Put the world folder in the same folder as craftbukkit, run the server, and type in console or in-game: mv import worldname NORMAL
You must be using an admin group with the '*' node. You need to add -mv.bypass.gamemode.* to that admin group.

i think you misunderstood my question. the gamemodes for each player doesn't change until reaload meaning people can keep creative going into a survival world. once i reload it then the change takes affect. i need it to change the moment they change worlds.

    [EDIT]
Nevermind i see were your coming from after I did more testing.

I seem to be having issues getting the basics of world travel down...
the MV-core I got working fine, both worlds are there, listed, mvtp works fine.

What I'm wanting to do is specify a portal type that goes from 'world' to 'world2' that players can build.

Say the make a obsidian portal , it goes to from 'world' to 'world_nether' of course, but I want them to be able to make a wooden portal, and it links 'world' to 'world 2' using the scale set in the MV config.

Seems i cant do this with MVnetherportals, and my world is already linked to nether with the portal, and to link world 2 would stop normal nether portals from working.

and MVportals wont work, as its not 'auto' create portals users can make

Is this possible? I cant seem to find anything on the wiki about user made portals.

    Did you reload the config?

This is not something we currently support in the Multiverse Plugin realm. However, we've written our plugins to play nicely with any other warping/portaling plugins you find, so feel free to use Core for your world management, then another plugin for portaling!

Ah could be why I was having a hell of a time finding it on the wiki :)

Ill give it a go with nethrar and see if I can use its portals, and MV's core world configs.

You're trying to create a FLAT type world on a 1.0.1 server. this feature was added in Minecraft 1.1. Update your Bukkit. Unfortunately CI is down atm, so just don't use this feature until you can get a 1.1 server.

You're most likely on an old bad outdated 1.1 build. Until dev builds are made available, I'm afraid you're stuck or will have to compile from source. Sorry.

MV 2.3-DEV works great on 1.1, and so does the 2.2-AB

Feel free, but I'm telling you it's most likely bukkit build that's broken, meaning you won't be able to create worlds with any world mgmt plugin. This is all conjecture, and I could tell you more definitively if you posted a stack trace.

I am not sure if it the server i am on, or a bug, but when i use redstone, repeaters and a button, the button seems to stay on for 30+ seconds, and on occasion, after the first or second repeater, the redstone stays on, even when the redstone/button before it is off?

Is there something i am missing?

I'm having some troubles with my Multiverse. I've looked through tutorials, command lists... A lot of stuff, but I can't seem to get my portal to work.

Okay, so I've tried importing both the world that the portal entrance is in, as well as the destination world the portal leads to. Both times it tells me some error has occurred. Now, when I first tried importing both, things went fine. It said it was complete and all that jazz, but when I proceeded to try and create my portal again, it told me "nothing is known" about my originating world or something, and prompted me to look for help in the </mv import ?> command. I tried importing both worlds again, which led me to the error occurring.

    What am I doing wrong?

Not only that, but when I just try to use the </mv tp [name] [world]> command, it tells me the same things as before.

Amazing plugin (which goes without saying) but I have one problem. When I enter an end portal I am sent to an obsidian platform with nothing around me and no boss bar. If I /mv tp to my end world then its fine...is there something I am doing wrong or missing?

For some reason, just typing /mv gens or /mv generators this error pops out...
