Okay this "essentials.eco.loan" is really really PISSING me off.

Firstly, I want players to have negative money WITHOUT them having UNLIMITED!.

Secondly, When they are at negative money, they can still /pay and buy stuff no matter what.

Thirdly, What is the point of having negative balance when you still have money?? Please fix this... A lot of people want to have a negative balance where players can't spend money or buy stuff with it. So they get their balance back up. PLEASE fix it, i requested this to you guys before but you ignored it as if your lazy and i know your capable of fixing this so please do it. Make a change.

Yeah sending people to IRC so they can sit forever and be ignored... only to be told "it's gotta be another addon"... and then ignore you again when you tell them essentials is the only thing installed atm.

The thing about volunteer support is...well, its done by volunteers. They're not being paid to sit and stalk the channel, they are donating their own free time to help you. Do some questions go unanswered? Sure. Do most issues get resolved? Yes. If there is a serious issue, feel free to highlight me (type my name in chat). I'm usually around.

Well the issue I have with it... IRC by it's nature leads to just this. It's fast paced when many people have a problem, where a forum would let somebody go through without missing as much.

I have discovered a lot about the bug I was experiencing... and I dont even think I have it in me to sit there forever again to relay the information. A forum thread would contain the history, tried remedies... all of that. IRC leads to "start from scratch and re-explain every time".

The nature of the beast makes it difficult for legitimate information to get through sometimes, and because the helpers there are having a ton of REAL TIME conversations they miss a lot, and must be brief with people.

A great example of this is being told 4 times "it's another addon causing the problem"... and missed the multiple times I mentioned it's the only addon I had installed, on a freshly installed test server.

We did end up jumping on a server to test the issue out... and since then I actually discovered a pretty important factor... my bug only happens when you are holding a torch in your hand. Do I go and sit for an hour to relay that? Only to be asked "what problem"?

if you are going to report a bug, i prefer you atleast try to provide some info, on whatever platform. i asked multiple people on this thread to describe there problems, i got no response.

Get more volunteers then, because as advertised it says ask in IRC for help, yes? Help? So those extra volunteers would lessen the load and be able to help more and more often, yes?

thats what it is, VOLUNTEER support. im not supposed to sit day and night watching the channel, in fear that if i go out to drink something, someone logs in, and whines that im not helping him the minute he logs in.

thats what seems to be the general altitude between people joining the channel. volunteers cant be on at all times, theres are other places to report errors if you cant find help on IRC, such as the issue tracker, or the forums, (state that you cant get help on irc)

The only catch here is that the original post specifically states in bold letters that this is not to be used to report bugs or suggestions.

if you are posting here saying "i have a bug" anyway, not gonna matter much

I mentioned having a bug, but mostly with the intent of pointing out that it was way more time to try and convince somebody I was serious due to the nature of IRC. The fact that you were able to see the issue and acknowledge it here faster than anybody on IRC actually kind of proves my point about it.

meant "you" as everyone who goes in and asks, but anyway, having difficulty seeing your point.

My point is this. The post states this shouldn't be used for bug reporting, and people should use IRC instead. After spending much time on IRC to finally have someone pay attention I basically gave up. Going back later on just meant repeating the entire conversation to somebody else.

On the other hand, using a forum you were able to pick up the problem and without even too much detail it was narrowed down and confirmed. Took less effort on both our parts than the IRC attempts did, and all of the information stayed viewable for reference later.

So... why would it state this should not be used for bugs? It works, doesn't it?

    Perhaps I should clarify
    > You need help -> IRC
    > Bugs (confirmed ones) -> issue tracker
    > Feature Suggestions -> issue tracker
    > Things that you don't want answered in a timely fashion or seen by most of the devs -> forums.

We focus on IRC and tickets. We don't stalk the forums.

I did go to IRC. Spent quite some time in there today, in fact. Felt ignored and came here.

The forum worked, and it's unfortunate you see it as "stalking".
