Is the Bukkit staff only going to approve plugins on dev.bukkit.org now or something? I just checked and right now there are 181 plugins in the submission thread... I'm pretty sure the staff isn't all away, not to mention that there is usually no more than like 50 in there at one time... just wondering what's going on.

My guess is that they all are preparing for the update and have decided to try and get that done before using time on plugin submissions.

Well.. As far as I can see, it's the same people who are accepting plugins on BukkitDev. And that doesn't take more than a couple of hours. So it does seem like they prefer BukkitDev. They're silently forcing it down our throats aren't they..?
That may be a bit of a harsh and exaggerated way of saying it, but for example; everytime a plugin gets accepted on Bukkit.org, they say "Please look to the future: BukkitDev" - I personally don't think it's the future. While this isn't anything we paid for, and the Bukkit team can basically do what they want with this project, I think it would be really nice to keep the forums for plugins too.
From my personal experiences, plugins.bukkit.org also still seems like the better and easier way of finding plugins.

I've deleted my project on BukkitDev, and I don't plan to re-open it there again. That's a personal preference, of course; if you're happy using BukkitDev, then great:)

Users shouldn't have to go to more than one place to find bukkit plugins. dev.bukkit is far and away better than the forums for finding plugins and hosting plugins, despite whatever other deficiencies it has.

I probably was a bit too impulsive and harsh, looking back at my post. I'll probably give BukkitDev another chance once it's matured a bit more. Then I'll see if it's worth putting myself into the hands of Curse again:p

    agree :)
the bukkit-dev plugin-search/filter often shows weird results
often the results of the filter do not even contain the word you searched for...

I already have the code ready for launching on plugins.bukkit.org that will switch it to searching BukkitDev, but we're awaiting better adoption by plugin developers first.

Oh come on admins/mods, you REALLY need to stop deleting posts just because you don't agree with them, or they show the Bukkit team in a bad light. I had a post here that said Curse was not a community choice, it's a decision forced on the community by the admins, there is nothing false in this statement yet it was deleted. Classy.

Seriously? There are no (0/zero/zilch) deleted posts in this thread. It may have been in a different thread, or you may have forgotten to click 'post'. Seeing as this thread was only posted, what, this morning, I doubt that all traces of the deletion would've been removed in that space of time, seeing as I (and Steve from Multiplay) are the only ones with access to the production DB.

    Edit: fail bold end tag.

If that were the case why was I getting alerts for this topic? I'm 100% positive I posted a reply, I'm positive I saw it after I posted it, and the fact the forum auto-subscribed me after I posted is more proof.
Also this thread was posted 4 days ago...

Yeah, I read the datestamp wrong; on a device which is screwing around with them and showing UNIX timestamps instead. :/

I don't know. It's quite likely that there's an issue with our replication setup. I find that far more likely than evil hostile administrators maliciously picking on you and spending time devising ways to delete your posts.

I never said it was someone finding a way to remove my posts without it logging, just that another post had gone missing :)

Until you said there was no record of a post being deleted in this topic, at which point I said I was positive I posted here, as shown by the alerts to this topic. I never said after that that someone had done it stealthily.

Back on Topic, I think BukkitDev is a step in the right direction- I do think however the community needs to come with their own projects to shine lights upon great new plugins and developers and assemble recommended plugin lists, as BukkitDev in my opinion beats the forums in terms of managing plugins and keeping them organizes, but lacks in chances for new plugins.

lukegb basically said "yup" by stating:
They are going to switch the plugin.bukkit.org to search BukkitDev, which will basically mean no posts in the Plugin Submission section will ever be noticed again, except by those who have been coming to Bukkit before Curse.

(I find it a bit ironic that their company name is 'Curse' and just about every website that uses them becomes pretty much disliked, almost like it was 'cursed'.)
