Griefer IP list/database

Hello,

I had the idea of making a list of ip's of griefers for server admins to put in there "banned-ips.txt" file, so that you prevent griefing by banning the griefers before they join your server. That way the bigger griefing teams have to find different ways to get on servers.
I would like your opinions about the idea.

Not alone, but alot of known griefers/griefing teams are on there.

McBans doesn't ban people by IP. It monitors the IPs of players, but as far as I know, it only uses it to link accounts and determine alt accounts. I think it would be interesting to give IPs reputations instead of players, like MCBans does. This would mean that if your account got hacked, you wouldn't have your reputation lowered. However, that means that griefers would basically have as many alt accounts as they have proxies, which might be good or bad. It's possible that all common proxies would soon get banned or have low reputation, along with forcing griefers to play on a slower connection.

There are a couple problems with this though. Dynamic IPs would be a cluster fuck, and schools or households with a lot of kids would be quickly blacklisted if only one person decided to start griefing.

You know it takes less then 5 minutes to change your IP right?

for me it takes 5 decades. (I don't know how to change mah IP!!!(I don't need to change it anyway))

Guys thanx for the responses, I tried mcbans, but it isn't for cracked servers so...I can't use it
And about the fact that griefers change there IP, i don't really think that the standard griefer knows how to do that.

Cracked servers are illegal.. Why would someone support illegal stuff unless they want trouble?

I don't know, why would i get trouble? Because of the fact that my server is cracked? It only means people using an illegal client can connect to my server. That's all.

Scrape proxies, use one, it gets banned, get another.

Rinse and Repeat.
Unless you want a database of proxies which will die within minutes.

I am blaming you, because you're the one with online-mode=false. You allow illegally downloaded software to be used by people to join your server. I find that very wrong. The game is only 20 Eur, jeez! Let them buy the game, or don't let them play!

Don't be mad at cracked client users, they test the game first, then usually buys it if they get addicted.
P.S: at my country people try games first, as they cost more than for you, 68.86LT to be exact, as for minecraft it costs much at first.
