Ok so I had been running a server on windows for about a year and decided to switch it over to my much more capable Linux Desktop. I have been trying for about a month to figure out the start.sh stuff and can get it to run but not restart or run with a double click. This is my first time with Linux and am much more capable with windows, but couldn't afford it. Any help would be appreciated.
"Linux Desktop" is not exactly descriptive...it is like saying "Not Windows and not Mac" I only run Ubuntu Server so my tutorials tend to lean in that direction. See if you have "screen" installed. If so, you can run your Minecraft server(s) inside a screen session. I have an old post on how I created Ubuntu Servers along with management scripts which might help you out. I still do basically the same thing today. The only thing different I do now based on what I documented this is slightly different scripts to handle multiple servers rather than a single server.
