   Yes he is right but with essentials you can use /hat to put stuff on your head.

   with the /hat command you can place almost any flat "panel" block (i.e. Water, lava, fire, spiderweb, endportal, vine, etc) on your head but, it appears as a cape-like-object projecting at a 45 degree angle from the back of your head.

   Ya I know it doesn't work well with non square blocks but w/e xD. Try changing your skin to look like the block.
