How to Install Bukkit (Newb-Friendly!)

This totally sucks... any servers with anything useful are completely barren. They are either being rampaged by griefers, or are closed/white listed to keep only the close members together... If only hmod was supported until bukkit was completed This transition is going to lose a LOT of multiplayer people unless things get done fast

Thank you, I never noticed this work log before. Why would anyone blame you anyway I dont see a reason other then the people who just plain dont deserve the end product "by that the ones or flame and flame until things are done" to be angry with anyone on the bukkit team or forums.

There is literlly nothing anyone can do but wait it out until its ready! I accepted that fact a long time ago when I began to understand the process of how Hmod worked.

i could use some help with my server^^ i did everthing what was needed to do and i think my server is running but when i whant to connect to it I see me falling like a split second an then the server give me this message in the cmd
lost connection: disconnect.endOfStream
i hope you can help me

its now working

i managed to get it working with minecraft 1.2.01 (seems a new update lol)

thinking if i can get it setup then it will be better then vanila and will be a good stop gap till they release the fixed hmod

1.2.01 has a server & client update, but server update isn't required just highly recommended!

As am I, but I think you might be missing the point these people are trying to make when they mention they are waiting for a fixed Hmod, I'f I understand it correctly they like me until bukkit is released with all its main features rely on Hmod as its the only server mod out there right now that people actually have already setup and, well maybe not the ONLY one but easily the BEST!.

I know bukkit is going to be good at least as long as everything they have planned makes it in, but I dont see a reason to knock Hmod it was our baby until this was announced and will forever remain apart of our servers history. I still preffer Hmod over this right now but I'm forced to jump ship regadless if I like the finished product or not.

But eh as long at the end of it all there is a Mcadmin like gui for the what seems to be freaking confusing permissions layout and settings then great.

i have a new problem now^^ i dont know if its a bug that needs to be fixed or its a problen on my server but ther server shuts down after a few minutes and if place lava like 5 to 10 times its stops instant

damn what did they add to tthe server? (it seems stable on the bamboo snapshot been up on my machine for a good 20 mins no errors (other then pluggin related))

yeah, mine server crash too after 5-10 mins

I loaded my server for friends to play on, went out and now I've returned there's no sign of it. Just closed by its self

only got 10 minutes out of it that time grrrrrrrr
no hmod
spent the better part of 4 hours setting bukkit up and it dont work ....need some one to scream at ..any volunteers?

this suppose to be better than Hmod, we dont even get regular commands from start

here is an easier way (and better way) to do this step which also allows you to skip step 5 (code from hmod; yes I recycle now that hmod is supposedly dead!)

well I was in my world for exactly 1 second... on a tree. Other than that I get malformed bytes(WTF are those!?).
Also before the stuff I posted above, the server wouldnt even start so I guess im almost there!

25 minutes and server is still up hmmm seems good files
