I cant Get Multiplayer Working?? HELP!

Ok so I wanted to make a bukkit server for me and my friends thats non hamachi...since i need admin permmision to download hamachi.... I got the server working and everything.. i can connect but noone else can using the esternal ip... I got the ports forwarded and the rest is in the video





Any help? any suggestions?

1. Start the server
2. Go to http://canyouseeme.org/ and type in the port your server is running on
3. If it is open, you may have a bigger issue, but, if it it closed, the Windows Firewall may be blocking it.

I did exactly what the video said and it still says it doesnt see me

 

In the server.properties file, leave the server-ip blank.

Also, do you have a static(Permanent) or dynamic(Set by modem) IP set to your PC?

 

Dynamic but the lease time is on forever meaning it will hold my IP until my router is unplugged for a while

 

Ok then... The only other thing i can think of is that you have some sort of 3rd party AntiVirus/Firewall.

Do you have TeamViewer? Might help me/someone else find the issue.

 

I have McAfee and webroot for antivirus

I do have teamviewer quick start

 

I did some research, and the best thing i can think of that may work is to;
Open the ports in McAfee
and
Stop the firewall in Webroot

 

I dont think the ports are the problem I think my firewall is blocking bukkit... because when i run a vanilla server. It works fine and when i go to canyouseeme.org it can access my ports so should i try to let bukkit through my firewall?

What a firewall does is checks all data going in and out of the network. It checks for information such as where it is from, the port, package type(and other more advanced stuff).

If the firewall has a port open (Port 25565 for example) it will allow all data through that port, no questions asked, but if the port is closed, it will ask you what it wants done with it(Pass or block).

Opening ports is the same as letting it through the firewall...

bukkit not :C

 

ALL PUT UR FIREWALL OFF U NEED TO LET PEOPLE CONNECT!!!

 

Sure, you can do that... But don't go complaining to people when you get viruses/get hacked and your PC stops working.

 

Uhg, This is soo dum why is my vanilla server working but not bukkit.....
