Illegal characters in chat.

i have a problem. characters can be put in the names. and cause problems.

Example Players can place whit mods "§" and crash the server.
In another servers you can not. Disconect by illegal characters in chat.
Can you help me please.


Another expample: Nicknames

This nicknames cause you can not Ban the player. kick or teleport.

Plugins:


Bukkit version: R0.3 BETA 1.7.2

 

Its completely impossible to have a name with a space in it. Is your server offline mode?

 

SuddenWolf Just disable/remove permission for nicknames then. I think it's from essentials.

Edit: also note that nicknames aren't the player name. There are 2 properties, Name and DisplayName. It should still be possible to kick someone if you type his real account name. If it is not, then your plugin that handles kicking is badly coded.

 

Yeah, the server are in Off-Line mode. i try Join in another servers and they kick me per "Illegal Characters in chat"

 

We do not support servers with authentication disabled.
