    Hey guys, let me first start off by saying, I searched for hours on this topic and it seams I always have a different problem when trying to open a minecraft server....
    I will have pics and detailed information of what I've done and maybe some one can help me here.
    Code:
    2014-07-28 21:59:56 [INFO] /127.0.0.1:49556 lost connection
    /\/\/\/\
    That's the whole problem on my part. Things that I saw to fix this wasn't really helpful because it didn't help my case.

    /\/\/\
    This is what I get on my screen trying to connect to my server using; my local host address, my ipv4 address, my external ip address, and my domain. All of them end up with the same results.
    Code:
    #Minecraft server properties
    #Mon Jul 28 22:10:35 EDT 2014
    generator-settings=
    allow-nether=true
    level-name=world
    enable-query=false
    allow-flight=false
    server-port=25565
    level-type=DEFAULT
    enable-rcon=false
    force-gamemode=false
    level-seed=
    server-ip=
    max-build-height=256
    spawn-npcs=true
    white-list=false
    spawn-animals=true
    texture-pack=
    snooper-enabled=true
    hardcore=false
    online-mode=true
    pvp=true
    difficulty=1
    player-idle-timeout=0
    gamemode=0
    max-players=20
    spawn-monsters=true
    view-distance=10
    generate-structures=true
    motd=A Minecraft Server

    That is my server properties.
    [IMG]
    ipv4 in cmd (it's a static address)
    Now some of you may be thinking "Oh he doesn't know how to port forward"
    Well not with this router I do not.
    This is a weird router/modem it is a Motorola Surfbord
    [IMG]
    It is a modem and a Router.
    So after logging into this weird contraption I find where to port forward.
    [IMG]
    Looks right? This router is new to me so hey w.e
    But that is my set up. Port Triggering I have no idea what that does.
    Do not get me wrong here, I've ran plenty of other servers for different reasons, but MC, I do not know why I always have a problem.
    If you have anything that could help me please comment bellow, Thanks~

    Hey, I have the same router/modem as you do! It's the 100MBPS router Brighthouse gives you.

    Fear not, I can help, you port forwarded incorrectly, in the External section, just leave the IP Address column blank (as in 0.0.0.0 not 192.168.0.10).

    Though, even if you did not port forward on your router, you should still have no issues connecting (if hosting on the local machine and playing from the local machine, if playing on a separate machine, I think port forwarding is needed).

    Thanks for the reply / help. I took your advice about the port forwarding and tried it out, but sadly I still get the same end results

    Might I add that I was logged onto the server for 10 min before hand, got something to eat, came back and didn't work after restarting?

    That's odd. Port forwarding is not your problem.

    Are you hosting on the same machine you're playing on?

    also, could you give me an error log?

    UPDATE: There are two fixes to this problem.
    First I need some information. What version of craftbukkit are you using and what version of Minecraft are you using?

    I am using the latest version of bukkit, i just downloaded it from this website. Same with Minecraft. I'm not sure the version numbers because I do not play minecraft all that often, this is my little brothers thing lol

    MC: 1.7.10
    CB: 1.6.4-R2.0

    Now that you say that, I did just download that MC 1.6.4 version and it works. But is there a more resent version of CB?
