What happened to Markdown? It disappeared today, and I don't see an announcement. I just posted a changelog yesterday with Markdown and it was working fine then.

My changelog is written in markdown, and now I can't edit them (or the caviats) without destroying the formatting.

I'm curious about this as well. I used Markdown for everything -- pages, change logs, caveats. Why the sudden removal?

Seriously, what's the deal? I hope this was just a mistake.. I also use Markdown exclusively, and noticed its absence when trying to edit one of my pages today – it reverted to BBCode and messed up all the formatting, and I couldn't change it back.

I suppose I could convert everything to BBCode but I chose Markdown for a reason, its well-supported on other sites. Hope it comes back.

Can we at least get an official word on that status of Markdown? Was this intentional (and should I convert all my stuff now), or is this a bug and I can safely wait for this to get resolved?

Looks like Markdown is back.. but now Plain Text is removed? (I use plain text for ChangeLogs, easier than Markdown). What is going on?

SafeHTML is now gone too. Which I use for all my project pages. Now they only show the page source code. Totally unreadable. If I have to rewrite all of my plugin pages in wikicreole I will not be happy...

I currently have safe html, markdown, bbcode and wikicreole as options. Perhaps maintenance is being done on the formatting.

I sure hope so, because I've already had some one comment on the format being royally jacked up for my project pages. So its not just me. I am totally loathe to rewrite my project pages in wikicreole.

Looks like Plaintext is back but still no sign of safeHTML.

On BukkitDev you can choose between different text styles. Like BB code or a kind of HTML. And much more, but atm there are som issues...

Yep, had to convert all 5 of my projects to wikicreole. Which sucked I might add. From 9:00am to 2:30pm nothing but reworking and rewriting project pages. Not cool. At least we should have been given notice that this was going to happen. Being surprised by it and finding out when users start posting messages about how my project page is messed up. Yea, that is not the way I like to find out about this kind of problem.

I don't think it was on purpose. But you must have been doing a lot of procrastinating while re-writing.

Irrelevant, its been 24 hours now that safeHTML has been gone. Some sort of official information would be appropriate. Nope. Silence. I'm not saying FIX IT, I'm saying tell us whats wrong so we will know if we should convert to wikicreole or just wait. That would be much more appreciated then the below...

Really off handed. I dont make comments about your work ethic how can you justify commenting about mine. I made no exaggeration in the length of time it took me. I had to learn wikicreole and figure out how to convert <div>'s <span>'s and all sorts of table layouts into a very limited markup language. Give me a break man.

Ptch, One would think someone with a BukkitDev Staff badge would be a little more courteous and helpful in replying instead of making blithe comments. Tisk tisk...

I have no clue either way, but your post said "notice" which indicates that it was on purpose, which I don't think it was. And is there really a learning curve to wikicreole? I don't even like wikicreole, but I use it just fine; there's a graphical editor sitting right there.

In any case I was just making a comment because it seems to me like 5 hours is a long time to be converting projects. Apologies if you took that the wrong way.

Maybe a poor choice of words, I was a little heated after my rewrite. Maybe alerted us of a problem or something to that effect would have been better.

Its not the learning curve its the translation to the layout I wanted.(when I convert something I'd like it to look sort of similar to how it used to) And the fact that the graphical editor doesnt work right in Opera... So I rewrote them by hand no editor.

Anyway, no harm no foul. Apologies accepted.

My research shows its been deprecated. So I kind of doubt it. But stranger things have happened... so...
