    Thanks to Lyiin for the idea of climbing walls!

    Features:
    • Climb up walls!
    • Assassinate other players/mobs!
    • Throw shuriken!
    • Perform leaps of faith!
    • Poison weapons!
    • Pick locks!
    To climb right-click any block that is considered climbable(you can change this list in the config) while not holding anything. You must be holding shift to stay on the wall, upon releasing shift you fall to the ground.

    To assassinate any mob simply attack them while you sneaking and you are behind them.

    To throw a shuriken left click with a piece of flint in hand. Each shuriken does 1 heart of damage; however on a successful assassination it will do up to 4.5 hearts of damage.

    Hold shift upon landing and it will negate fall damage, assuming you have the proper permission nodes

    Right click any chest with the lock-pick tool (configurable, by default string) if the chest is locked you have a configurable chance of opening it if you fail you take a configurable amount of damage.

    To poison your weapon simply right click with the poison item in hand (configurable, by default red mushroom) The next entity you hit will be poisoned. The poison then lasts for a configurable amount of seconds each second doing a configurable amount of damage.

    A little outdated not much though:

    Combine this plugin with EffectiveArrows! this will yield the ability for varying arrow types allowing your players to perform neat combinations. Such as using smoke arrows to cover their escape! Or maybe do a little flaming arrow ambush.


    Permissions (these are Super Perms!):
    These permissions are only used if the usePermissions value in the config is set to true otherwise it is op only.
    • DarkBrotherhood.climb-allows the player to climb.
    • DarkBrotherhood.assassinate-allows the layer to perform assassinations.
    • DarkBrotherhood.use.shuriken-allows players to throw shuriken.
    • DarkBrotherhood.roll-allows players to perform leaps of faith.
    • DarkBrotherhood.use.poison-allows players to use poison.
    • DarkBrotherhood.use.lockpick-allows players to use lock-picks.
    Todo;
    • Add an assassin guild style thing. With rewards for murdering players.
    • Add Spout support and corresponding dash ability (thinking it will activate when some button is pressed). (done not sure if I want to implement it though)

    As my sig says I'm trying to push Bukkit plugins forward with things such as innovative features and seeing that I believe Bukkit is headed toward super perms only I will continue to only support super perms. However; my solution to the problem is use both some to manage this some to manage the others seeing that super perms and permissions dont conflict it's what I do.

    If everyone supported bperms it would be fine. But they don't. I'm just saying, theres no way I can use this plugin unless theres perm 3.x support. And I'd love to use it. That's all.

    Until it gets there I won't be using it, because right now I and a lot of others use Permissions 3.x. We aren't running servers in the future, we're in the present.

    I had no idea they didn't conflict either...So, I could use this plugin with Bukkit perms and not mess up everything running on 3.x? Just to clarify.

    Kinda agree with this. But it's your plugin, so I guess your the boss ;)

    Please reconsider supporting Perm 3.x though.

    There's no reason why they would conflict. They both load at the start of the server, and if bpermissions is empty, it's ignored, however most plugins support 3.x, so they will be unaffected by bpermissions. I believe that it's possible to have both without them conflicting, as pointed out above by skeletonofchaos. I'm using the OP system because I have no other use for OPs, but if you want I can test if it works with bpermissions (when having perm 3.x)

    Bolt, you have an excelent point there. Though I have seen some really stupid conflictions in plugins... Like Spout and a clock plugin... I'm using the OP system because there's no more than one or two people on my server at a time right now, lol. If you want to test it, you can, I won't be able to until tomorrow.

    Agreed there are some stupid conflicts but permission 3.x and bPermissions don't conflict, although it seems like they would.

    Lol agreed. However, that being said I wrote it this way so I don't have to keep rewriting code every time permissions or some other 3rd party plugin is updated this way I can worry about updating and adding in new features without also having to keep track of any other plugins beside my own (and Spout, but Spout is closer to an entire API than a plugin).

    this is pretty cool man. i guess the glass block cant be made invisible or anything though eh? if it could be im sure you would already have it like that. if you could spawn invisible blocks like that it would rock if you spawned a 3x3 slab of ladder wherever the player came into contact with a climbable surface and kept adjusting it as they moved around (similarly to magic carpet, or the glass walls that hold you in the war zone in wars) so you could freeclimb like in assassins creed...

    overall seems like it has a lot of potential. thanks :)

    Yeah I've been trying to get the glass block to be fully invisible but I can't do that yet. I was thinking of doing the whole ladder thing but then how would you scale the underside of blocks?

    Your point? If you think it's over powered you can make it weaker by editing the multiplier value in the config.

    So I just downloaded this today - I'm running a server on MineOS+ and tested this mod both with permissions on and off and found that none of the features work with either setting. My other plugins (EasyFlight, NoWeather, NameChanger) all seem to be working fine. Is there some sort of conflict with these plugins or am I totally missing something here?

    Help would be greatly appreciated - this mod looks awesome!

    You can! Wood doors anyways. I'm like 90% positive on that will test.
    Hmm. please post all other plugins or all those all? Without using permissions you need to be an op to use the features.

    All plugins: Easyflight, mChat, Name Changer, NoWeather, NoIce, Permissions and of course Darkbrotherhood.

    Everyone was opped when we tested it, leaving me in my confusion. It seems almost as if the plugin is disabled or something, the server definitely at least acknowledged the plugin because it created the folder and config.. Any ideas?

    Well if your using it in permissions mode it has super perms not permission permissions as has been stated multiple times above me :) does the server console say anything?

    The console appears to have nothing to say, although I'm very new to MineOS+ and the mistake may very well be on my end.. I'll look up some faqs or something, if I can't get anything to go for me though I may be back again though..

    EDIT:
    Out of curiosity I tried booting it up in MCMyAdmin, and when I do so I get:
    [INFO] DarkBrotherhood Enabled!
    [SEVERE] Error occured while enabling Darkbrotherhood v1.5
    (Is it up to date?): For input string ""
    java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string ""

    EDIT #2:
    Ah, apparently the whole problem was that when I changed the blocks you can climb I left an empty space between two commas :p How embarrassing, everything is working fine now, great mod!

    Hmm try running it without any gui or anything. Just vanilla style the download is straight out of my server's plugin folder so it should work and try new version with latest RB.

    Yeah lockette has a weird way of handling doors... Hmm maybe make it destroy the sign on doors instead?

    thats a good point about grabbing overhangs. glass blocks would probably be fine for that though since there isnt a lot of freedom of movement from that position compared to climbing a large flat surface.

    i cant think of any plugins that spawn invisible things. maybe with spout eventually youll be able to spawn a block with a custom texture and just use a blank/empty .png...

    In which case how would you climb around corners? I put a lot of thought into which method I would use and this was the best one I came up with.

    Very cool idea! I will try it, but I've had some bad experiences before with plugins that make blocks apear temporarily. Lets say I'm running away from an angery group of players, and I want to climb a wall that is in my path. This wall is the front to someone's store. On this wall are signs. Will the glass block replace the sign on the wall, but when the sign comes back it is blank? Or, will the glass block destroy the sign in order to put itself there? Same with torches and ladders, and anything like those that go on walls. Before I try it out, I would just like to know, thank you

    Glass blocks will not replace anything besides air so all signs chests and everything will be safe.
    @Shivanous you should. P.S. it includes poison :)
