Minecraft snapshot 12w03a bukkit compatibility question

So from what I understand...
1) Minecraft updated to 1.1
2) bukkit version 1.0.1 doesn't work with Minecraft 1.1
3) bukkit devs are working on making a recommended build that supports minecraft 1.1
4) This minecraft snapshot 12w03a is about to be released.
5) If bukkit devs release a recommended build for minecraft 1.1 and then this 12w03a is released shortly afterwards, will bukkit become incompatible with the latest version of minecraft again?

 

Whenever Minecraft releases a major update, Bukkit usually takes a couple days to weeks to update to match it. There is currently a development build of Bukkit that works with 1.1 though, which can be downloaded from here: http://repo.bukkit.org/service/loca...org.bukkit&a=craftbukkit&v=LATEST&r=snapshots

 

The snapshot release for 12w03a has been out on the mojang site for a couple of days now and hit the minecraft site today. Keep in mind snapshots are not actually official updates to the game but rather a test client for us to be able to test the new content that is being worked on for the next release. The minecraft launcher will not automatically update you to this version either, you have to go to their sites to get the jar files for the snapshot. The official current release will remain at 1.1.

 

Bukkit only begins the update after an official release has been made.

 

Thank you both for the information. It sounds like the answer to my question is "yes". So I'm guessing that when 12w03a is an "official" update, then minecraft will be now at version 1.2 or perhaps 1.1.1
