TentThis - Portable Tent (and more!) System
    Version: v2.2.0

Note: If you downloaded v2.2.0 before April 11, 2011, the TentThis.properties default schema is missing the </tentSchema> tag. A fixed .properties is now included in the downloads.

    Response to a request.

Lost in the wilderness and it is getting dark? Going on a long expedition? Tired of hiding in holes? Well TentThis is here!

Simply plop down a Sponge block, type in /ttTent, whack it once and watch the magic unfold. The tent will be created out of thin air (as long as their is enough space!). And when you need to move on just break one of the walls and watch the tent vanish and your Sponge return to you.

    Whats new in v2.2.0?

    See the release post.

Got an old style schema and need to convert it? Well see that post as well!

    Wiki

I am migrating (almost) all information from this post to the new wiki as the plugin grows.

    Links / Install Instructions

    Tent How-To

Creating your own custom tent is simple! I suggest to look at the default tent provided with the TentThis.properties. If there are any errors in loading/creating the tent make sure to check your console output for detailed information.

Once you have made the tent, try loading it with /ttSchema <TentName>.

If you receive the message "Tent schema 'TentName' loaded!" then all went well.
    Otherwise check the console output.

Once your tent is ready for use and is loaded in, set down your Sponge block, type in /ttTent, and hit it!

If there is enough space the tent will be built. Otherwise you will receive the message "There is not enough space to build the tent 'TentName'!"

    I Don't Want To Use a Sponge!

Then edit the line in the TentThis.properties that by default says:
    Code:
    CreationBlock=19

Replace the 19 with the data value of the block you want to use instead.

    Help! My Tent Doesn't Work
    1. Check the console for any error output. I have made sure that 95% of all possible errors with the tent schema have detailed output as to the exact problem.
    2. Check the schema for any silly problems (dimensions not matching what you specified, missing floor, missing closing tags, non-capitalized letters).
    3. Repeat step 2.
    4. Repeat step 2.
    5. Repeat step 2.
    6. Post here.

if u have a stack of sponges, will u be able to make 64 tents? or when u make one, the other one vanishes.

For now they wont. It is my top priority when I get time though.

As many tents as you want.

Started to play with that and i found one bug: after destroying tent, torches will drop and player can pick them up.

    Otherwise, seems to work great.

I have noticed this myself. Will put on the 'Know Issues' list.

    Further testing:

-If destroy anything but walls, it will drop that item instead of packing up tent. I know that workbench and furnaces are not really that much worth, but still it's easy way to get free items.
    - After typing command, it will also print command. Like, when i type /ttTent:

I currently only have it checking if a wall was broken to destroy the tent. I can either:
    1. If any part of the tent is removed, then the tent is destroyed
    2. If a player tries to remove any part other than the wall, then the event is canceled.
The second issue (command appearing in chat) I am not too sure of the cause but will look into it.

Part 2 sounds nicer to me.

Yeah, second issue is very minor, there is no real priority of fixing it.

What about instead of hardcoding items, you could add something like that to beginning of schema:

The second issue can probally be fixed by adding "return true;" or "return false". Worked at my plugin :p

I think he needs to build detection first.

Lolmen was right about the message issue. I forgot the return true statements after executing the commands.

I have beds worked out and now will work on doors. I will also look into your suggestion about customizable items matejdro.

Doors are working properly, torches no longer get dropped, breaking anything other than the walls does nothing, and working on the beds.

Hopefully will have an update out tomorrow.

Definitely. It will either be configurable in a config file or a permission based command.

Can you make it optionally not require the command? Say I don't use sponges for anything else at all on my map, having to type the command is a small annoyance, and I like to make my server as command-free as possible. Can you make it so punching a sponge always activates the tent? Thanks!

Yea this would be simple to do so I will make sure it gets into the next update.

Once I have beds working I will release a new version.

For no-command mode i think it would be better right click. So if you accidentally place sponge, you can still pick it up without bursting into tent.

    I made this change.

After this release, the next priorities are: Permissions and being able to limit the number of tents to a player.

is ther eany way to be able ot chose a different type of block from a cfg?

As in not having to use sponge?

I plan on allowing the user to change the block, but it is not currently in.

this exactly that would be nice because world guard/edit re-activate the sponge so it would be nice to switch it up

    TentThis v1.2.0 Released
    http://www.1143pm.com/TentThis v1.2.RAR

Major thanks to Mixcoatl and Edward Hands with helping me to get the beds working!

    Whats new?
    • Doors work (might be some irregularities with the orientation of the top at first)
    • Beds work (B = bed foot, H = bed head now)
    • Torches no longer drop when the tent is removed
    • Trying to remove anything but the walls does nothing
    • New command: /ttNoCommand.
      • Allows you to make tents without having to enter /ttTent first.
      • Must right click the block to make, as opposed to left click when this feature is disabled.
    Known Issues
    • The tent drops a bed when it is 'packed' up. I know the cause but not too sure how I will fix this. But I will!
    • The mentioned door top issue
    • Color tag still does not work.
    Whats next?
    • Permissions support
    • Ability to limit # of tents to a player.
    • Ability to change the block that creates a bed from a Sponge to whatever the user wants.
    • Perhaps allow the user to specify what each character in a schema represents.
    • Get the color tag working!

Um, this isn't working. If I type /ttNoCommand it says no command needed or whatever, and I right click, and nothing happens. If I type /ttWhat it says default. If I put down a sponge and type /ttTent it says waiting to put down a tent, but if I left or right click or anything nothing happens. It is in a 50x50 flat area, so there is enough room.
*EDIT* Oh and b4 u ask,

Does it work normally? As in before using /ttNoCommand?

It is working fine on both of my servers, which use the same CraftBukkit build as yours.

edit2: I was not looking pass the 'Could not Pass' error. Null pointer somewhere. Let me look into it.

edit3: The only thing that could have been null at that point is the tent. Please re-download and try the newest version (should report v1.2.10 in your console) which I uploaded just before this edit.

There is a check now for null tents. If you get this error again please paste the updated console log.

Also the null error may have been caused by an improperly edited tent schema, so it should also give some error messages that concern that.

    Version v1.2.9
    http://www.1143pm.com/TentThis v1.2.RAR

    • Colored walls work. Use the color names as specified at http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Wool#Data_Values_for_Colored_Wool.
      • Names must have no space and be all lower-case.
    • Custom defined 'CreationBlock'. Default is Sponge.
      • Edit the 'CreationBlock=19' line in the TentThis.properties.
    • New command: /ttReload
      • This is in place so one does not have to restart the server to change the CreationBlock.
      • Edit the block in the properties file, then enter the /ttReload command and it should work!
