Personally I don't see any need to this. If we were going to do something like this, why would it be green and attract everyone's attention to the offtopic portion of the post? There's no reason for this to be implemented in my opinion. Also, if you want to get legitimate poll responses 'JOPH IS A SEXY BEAST' will not really help you and just make this look like a joke.. In your example that could be something you put along the bottom of your post anyway, yes it's offtopic but it's a legitimate question that could be answered, thus an offtopic spoiler is warranted. What is NOT ok is: Hey that's a nice plugin really good work Since you seem to be a cool guy, it would be really nice of you to check out my plugin here, also donate to my paypal here, and check out my youtube here! If you are just commenting on something that is relevant, it's not a big deal, and in fact using an offtopic spoiler increases the quality of the thread. However, a lot of people may think that just because it's inside an offtopic spoiler you can say whatever you like and it doesn't have to pertain to the thread. (which is false)
I'm going to have to agree with the staff on this one... There's an offtopic section for a reason. If you're having an issue (forum or otherwise), post it in Bukkit Help!
In addition, I also looked at how the spoilers are implemented and it doesn't appear to be something that is quite easily duplicated then modified slightly. Course I could just be a dum dum, but that's just what I saw.
