    'borrow' adobe much? :p

    so.. just to confirm things:
    1. you are running the server AND the client on the SAME machine?
    2. from that machine if you tell minecraft to connect to localhost:25565, it says outdated server?
    3. you are not running any weird versions of minecraft client?

i think i found the problem.
my computers are on a network, and this computer was hosting on my other computers world. i had a backup world on there.

now, i dont get an outdated server area, but now I get the too long to login error.

i'm guessing he had a mapped drive to a different machine..
however, if it was just the world file, that wouldn't really make much difference.

next time, we tell the user to put the server and client in offline mode and pull the network cable. THEN we start troubleshooting :)

I see two servers starting up, though they can't both be bound to that port.

I just turned off my other pc, i tried to delete my file hosting folder from my second pc and said it was in use so i was guessing that it was trying to run from 2 computers.

I turned it off and it worked.

You know why it worked, right? You were running a MC server on that PC.

It wasn't what I saw - it is what I didn't see. I didn't see a single error in the log that showed a client trying to connect to an outdated server. This meant the server I was connecting to was not the server he was showing the logs for - and since he confirmed his IP was the IP I was connecting to, the only logical possibility was that he had a different server running. If he had another instance running on the same PC there would be "Cannot bind to port" errors.

well, it wasn't running, its a glitch my comps get that even when you end the server it is secretly still running but you cant connect to it.
