Random Spawn | Using Portals

Hello, my name is Jordan Nob. I am currently setting up a small SMP server...​

Been working on it for a couple of months now, and almost finished.​

I need a couple more plugins to be done, and this is one of them...​

There is a plugin called Random Spawn which makes it so players​

can click on the RandomSpawn sign and they will be teleported​

somewhere random in the world.​

​

That is still what I need, but instead of Signs, we would use Portals!​

Here is an example of a portal I would be using....​

If someone can make this plugin... Would mean alot!​

Just submit a ticket to the plugin that you mentioned, he may consider adding portals if you run it by the developer.

 

I did, although he has not replied. He also has never updated it, so I thought someone could start it in a different version.

I basically put everything up there, if you can on the real Plugin for Random Spawn, I want it exactly like that, but instead of using a sign that says [RandomSpawn] you would just make a portal shown above, select it with W/e and type something like... /RandomPortal Set <Name>

 

Ok, so tell me if this works:
You stand where you want the portal to be, and type the command. Then after standing in the portal for about 1 second, you are teleported somewhere random on the map.

Also, tell me the minimum distance to be teleported from the portal

 

Using the same functions as the Random Spawn you set the radius of the Map. So like... /RandomSpawn 50000 50000 Which teleports you in those Coords, so it may be 25244 3233 Or 23422 23444

You also set it what blocks they Spawn "ON" and they don't spawn "IN" And I would like it if you could just walk into the portal and it instantly teleports you.

And also, I would perfer if you set it with w/e ... Because wouldn't it just claim one block if you typed a command while standing in it?

iPadHD I can set an area stemming from a given point. So, if you set the command while standing in the portal, I can check if a player is <1 away from it, world edit will not be necessary.

I also do know how to make the player spawn on to of a block, not in it.

I will make the minimum and maximum distance be in the config.

 

Bukkit hasn't added the Minecraft 1.5 commands yet.

 

Just use the Random Spawn Coding... Just change it so you don't use a sign you use a portal.

First of all, I'm not doing this because you didn't contact me, as I prefer not to openly discuss my projects on a forum thread. Second, I'm still not doing the project because you're being a real pain by bumping this thread every hour or two since Thursday. If nobody wants to do your plugin, accept this, and find another workaround for your server.

 

If the plugin allows you to teleport to a random place by executing a command you can check out variabletriggers. You can make an area trigger and add a script running the command.

 

Or 'hire' a developer.
