Why not use the tool thats already there? Happens to be a stick, by the way. Just enable it in config.

Well, you can enable automated log cleaning if the database is getting too big to your liking. Just take a look at the config.
Also, remember that /sniff is only for recent actions. If it doesn't show a block that you are sure wasn't there before, use /supersniff (or /swss for short)

Also, when you say "file" do you mean that you only have a single file? Since the file should be cut approx. every 4.95mb.
If you only do have one file, make sure that in the config, "splits=100" and the mode is "time". If that doesn't help, enable automated integrity repair by enabling both "integrityOnStart" and "autoRepair" then just restart your server and look at the console.

You're entering 09:25: for time parameter. However, the correct format is 09 25
That is what causes the error.

you should type the name exactly as written in the log. If it says (Exploded) then that is what you type after p:
    Including the parenthesis.
    Code:
    p:(Exploded)

I love this plugin. I recommend it to any server I go on that doesn't have a logging and rollback plugin.
However, something I would like would be a log block (a block you place and it will tell you the history of where you placed the block), and also a log item (example, right click on a block with the special log item and it tells you the history of that block)

PRO TIP: What you can do is if you have essentials, hold an item you want to be a logging item, and type in the chat:
    /powertool swslook

    Glad to hear that. :D
And well, there is a stick. Its just not enabled as default (There are alot of servers that can do fine without, and SWatchdog aims to minimize resource usage. All the little things count too.)

Just type /whelp 10 for more info.

Take a look into your swatchdog folder, what is the size of placed.world.txt? It should be max 5MB, if its higher than that, you should enable IntegrityOnStart and AutoRepair in config, then restart the server.

Does this need a MySQL Database or any other kind of database?

Edit: I did research on this plugin, is Flatfile Database like a plugin or is it something the server host has to install?

Moar Edits: I did some more research XD Now I know what it is. Don't mind this message. [diamond] to you for making this non-SQL

Judging from the amount of people using it (Roughtly 1500 servers past 7 days.) I'd say "yes".

make wxray for all worlds... Now I have to check for all my worlds and my admins cant check it in all worlds such as faction worlds... Can you make Gxray for Global - Xray which checks all worlds for mined ores

Well to be honest, I think its better to check worlds seperately (to more efficiently find those xrays) and running a command that would go through all your logs at once can slightly reduce the servers performance for the duration.
But thanks for the suggestion! Keep them coming. :)

Well, based on this, I could make a command that lets you specify the world for /wxray so you don't need to go to the world you're checking.

Its hard to check that for each world per player when you need to check 5 worlds :S. To be honest I would really need the global scan. And you forgot emeralds to add, some admins of my server noticed that.

    Cheers Darthmineboy,

Umm, do you mean you're planning on checking everybody? Why not just the suspicious people? :)
If you only check suspicious people, thats exactly 1 command/world (For you, 5 commands you can pretty much ArrowKeyUp. 3(?) if you don't check The End and Nether). Besides, checking one world at a time dulls any performance drop that running such a megacommand would cause (Assuming the user had never enabled log pruning, /wGlobalXRay could cause some noticeable performance drop on a 'medium' to 'larger' server. Or even smaller servers with extremely limited hardware.)

But I think adding a flag w:WorldName at the _end_ of the /wxray command could be pretty good idea, I mean, when you arrowkey it up, you can easily change the worldname. (And only check worlds relevant to xraying, unlikely you'd find anything from Nether and End)

Oh, and while I'm at it, I'll add emeralds to the list.

Oh and something more, it doesnt always log griefs, do they use a hack for that? Or is it a bug in swatchdog?

I have never come accross a grief that wasn't logged. Could you describe in greater detail what happened? Do you have log pruning enabled? Did you try /sws or /swss? Do you have IntegrityOnStart and AutoRepair set to true?

Is it possible to change welcome text without modifying .jar file? I'd like to short it out a little.

I may have missed it but how would I view older logs? I know Swss shows it up but we're kinda capped with the chat log being so small. Unless I am missing a function somewhere.

Especially when one has physisc logging enabled...

Physics logging is pretty much for testing purposes. You don't want to enable that. You can do
    /swss l
    /swss broken|placed head|feet|under
for checking a single block (to limit the amount of data shown to you)

First Thank you for this great Plugin!
I enabled Animal Logging in the config. The killed animals are also correctly listed in the animals.world.txt file. The Problem is: I don't know how i can see the killed animals ingame. I tried the /sws l command on the block which is specified in the animals.world.txt but it won't work. /sws rad will also bring no result... :(
Is it at all possible to view the killed animals ingame? I hope somebody can help me.
    CrushedIce

P.S. Sorry for my bad english hope you can see what i mean ;)

Yeah, the command is /sws anirad
The default is 3x3 area, but you can use
    /sws anirad r:10 t:CHICKEN
to check for chickens slain at radius 10 around you, for example.

Thanks! It works great :) Maybe you can add it in on the Commands and Permissions Page on Bukkit Dev to make it easier to find ;)
    But i have another Question:
Is it a Bug or a Feature that mob kills are logged when watchAnimals is true?
I think it would be nice to split it up in watchAnimals and watchMonsters or something like this.
