    A versatile, player-controlled land management plugin for use with Bukkit/Tekkit/Spigot/Libigot, offering solutions for pvp, griefing, chat, inflated economies and monsters.


    Towny includes a wide variety of features to offer instant enhancements to your traditional Minecraft server.
    • Allows players to own and manage land based on a pre-set grid layout.
      • Players join towns and purchase plots of land.
      • Players decide who can build, destroy, use "switchs" and use items on every plot they control.
      • Towns can join together into nations, further structuring a server into teams.
      • Towns grant protection from monsters, pvp, fire, explosions and greifing.
    • Wilderness Rules (Optional)
      • Area between towns is wilderness, with its own build permissions.
      • Limit players' interaction with the wild to just harvest-able blocks, keeping the wild pristine.
      • Roll-back tnt, creeper, wither explosions, dragon damage and endermen block-moving.

    @AHgpeu your craftbukkit isn't proper, get the latest RB for 1.2.5

    There are permission nodes for both, but if a player was upgraded in rank to join a town to get the wild perms, then left the town, he'd still have the wild perms.

    You skipped over the part in the install instructions where you were told to get Register.jar

    Yes, see the How Towny Works wikipage.

    It's up to the mayor of the town to limit the plot perms of his town, tell him to type /town set perm off then type /town set perm reset

    How do I setup my town for the first time? I have plots set to size 20 and have already laid out the plots. I did /town new NAME and it create a home block in some random position that I can't seem to change.. Dont tell me townblocks are created with the map and dont move..

    >< of course it is.. world edited all my plots to where they needed to be and works fine now.

    Towny doesn't work for me. I get an error when the register plugin tries to load. As requested earlier, here are the full server startup logs..

    I also tried updating to register 1.8... same problem as shown in the pastie link.

    You have an out of date plugin which is crashing register. Which one it is is unknown. Start eliminating plugins until it works.

    My Towny keeps going into safe mode. It's always because it can't load a town or nation. I tried going to a backup but that didn't work either.

    Mobs seem to still not be spawning despite having townmobs being forced on. Anything I can do to remedy this?

    To test, go into creative mode and fire off some skeleton/zombie spawn eggs. If you see the mobs removed in town but not the wild, then towny doesn't have the townmobs properly forced on.

    Use the ingame commands, that section of the config is only used to set settings for new worlds.

    /tw toggle forcemobs

    type /tw and make sure mobs are forced for that world.

    Sticking on essentials eco. I switched to using mysql now. So this isn't a problem for me anymore.

    I'm busy with towny_advanced and commands for more than 4 hours and i am starting to hate him so I would like it if i get some tips or stuff because i looked on YouTube and still didn't get it even the towny wiki didn't help. please help me with towny_advanced

    Read the 2nd post of this thread and try again.

    @Shadowcry1337 I don't think that trollface means what you think it means. (Read the chatconfig.yml/follow the chat section of our wiki, this really shouldn't stump you.)

    changing my server from factions to towny but i have a problem, people seem to be able to towm towns in world guard regions, please could you tell me how to fix this please , is it a permission nod i need to fix or do i have to form a new world guard flag to stop them please fast answear would be amazing, in factions theres a world guard region guard egnore true / false . do you have one have i missed it somewhere

    @Marc-D you can use NPC controlled towns where your have WG regions, that way they cannot claim townblocks there. Read This.

    please could you explain more lol im a noob to towny , just about to set up the boards with the commands so how do i do what you said , include command i would need to use and do i use a 2 point system , REALY hoping theres an option in the config i missed tho or a flag for world guard , or its just silly its not added lol, alkl help welcome

    Did you click the link, it has the commands. Worldguard doesn't have a flag to deny town claims inside WG regions, you'd have to ask them to add it.

    lol i have had someone else from my server look ofer the chat and link and like me is lost . and if faction had a world guard reconice true false then it would be upto towny to add it not world guard, as world guard is protection not land or aconomy based, all pluging that use land are normaly world guard friendly

    No one has any idea what you are talking about. Only residents?
    You decide who can use lockette but assigning it's permission nodes to permission groups, not residents.
    In Towny you decide who can build where.
    The two are not the same. However, if you can't place a sign then you can't use lockette.

    Thats my best guess at your question.

    Having problems with plot commands.

    My permissions are set and people have the towny.town.plot enabled but are able to change the perms but not toggle it says that the command is disabled thru permissions?

    The Towny version is 0.80.0.0 and we are using Minecraft 1.2.5 R1.0

    My problem is that who deletes a city or unclaimed areas. Then occur in the affected chunks bugs. To generate holes. A delete the affected chunk's has brought nothing. I hope you can help me. There is nothing showy display in serverlog. Just who was cleared of the bug towny was no longer there. At the moment I have disabled the delete of the city. But it would be nice to people we could use towny normal. The plugin is really cool and hatched respectively in front of your work and the time you invest in towny.

    Wow, just wow.

    Use '/tw toggle revertunclaim' in each world you want the revert turned off in.

    See the changelog for 0.80.0.0
    There are new nodes for the /plot command.

    Might be the kind of thing to put on the issue/suggestion tracker...
