how does bukkit make money?

its quite hard to make money off donations is that there only means of income?

 

Bukkit is non-profit

 

First of all, it is not that difficult to make money from donations, provided that your product is good, and a lot of people are using it. Both apply to Bukkit.

Second, as IDucks already said, Bukkit is a non-profit, which means that its intent is not making money.

Third, most, if not all, operating costs (domain name, webserver for bukkit.org, forum software license, etc.) are covered by Curse, which means that the team is not actually spending much in terms of money.

Last, most of the staff are volunteers, which means that they are not paid anything either.

 

Bukkit doesn't make money. We all volunteer our time to this project.
