I know the ip, but i don't know the DNS or it doesn't matter?
When i chose "Use the following ip address", the "Use the following DNS server" will be automatically selected.

Or you can look in the modem for DHCP reservation.
You will have to save your mac-address (you can find that with the way Maihym said) in the modem.
If you've done it right, your PC will always get the same IP, automatically (so no static IP).

use the same ip address as before, for DNS servers, use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
DNS servers are the phone books of the internet, when you type google.com, it goes to a DNS server and is converted into googles IP. like this:[IMG]
by setting your DNS server to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, you telling your computer to use google's "phonebook" to convert the names into IP addresses.

    simple really.

you new modem may be assigning a different address.
you may have had 192.168.0.??, but your new modem may be assigning 192.168.1.?? addresses instead.

go to start, search for cmd, click the one named cmd.exe. in the black box that appears type "ipconfig"

    look for this (or similar)
    Code:
    Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

      Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
      Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::8dcc:1b5b:2456:2fe%10
      IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.9
      Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
      Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
the first 3 "blocks" of the default gateway address are the ones you need to use.

hang on a sec, let me get this straight... which IP address are you referring to? the one you use locally or the one your friends use to connect?
if its the one you use locally, and your playing on the same computer the servers running on, just use localhost (or 127.0.0.1)
if its the one you use locally, and your playing on another PC in your network, then i'm confused.
if its the one your friends use, just Google "my ip" to find your IP address, give that to your friends.
